I know COBRA is available for many, but it is very expensive to keep up and runs only for a limited period. Questions like this have been asked before and those against governement supported just accused those who didn't have as lazy losers. But with the economy crashing, the scenario has changed. If you aren't employed anymore and have no income and little savings, what are you doing for health insurance?
TAT...I left my job and my COBRA payment was ,200 a month for me and my family. When you are unemployed, that is a LOT of money and not "reasonable" as you describe it. Many don't have enough money for rent and food, much less that kind of money.

My parents are in their early 50's, and do not have . They are struggling with money, so paying for health insurance is the last thing on their minds.

Since I won't be getting my paycheck while I'm on maternity leave, what will happen with my ? My employer pays most of it, but they still take about 0 a week out of my check for what I have to pay. If I'm not getting a paycheck while I'm on leave, how will my insurance be paid? I have short term disability that I pay into voluntarily every week, so that's what I'll be living off of while I'm out, which isn't really much. How will the insurance get paid?

Let's say there's a family, and there's three different prescriptions for different medications within the family. Let's say the Dad is paying for . Why does not pay for Chantix, to help people to stop smoking? I just recently got a prescription for Chantix to help me quit smoking, and insurance will not pay for it? The pharmacist told me that pretty much no insurance will pay for this. Why is it, we are told by scientists, doctors, media, and yes insurance that we need to stop smoking, but yet insurance will not pay o help us have a successful chance at quitting?
